SQL Server Data Access Components (SDAC) 8.2.8 is an open source, cross-platform tool which allows developers to create data-driven applications in SQL Server 2008 R2/2012/2014 databases using the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 or higher on Windows 8, Windows 7 / Vista / XP / 2000, Linux 32-bit or 64-bit, and Mac OS X 10.10+. SDAC comes with many tools for data operations including stored procedures, views, functions, triggers and more. It supports all databases compatible with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3 Reporting Services installed on Windows Vista or later including Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 Developer Edition. SDAC implements the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) 2.0 standard for data access, and the System.Data.OleDb for working with ODBC databases. It also supports all database objects developed to support the .NET Framework 4.5, including LINQ-to-SQL, Entity Framework 6.x, ADO.NET Entity Framework providers, and WCF Data Services 5. x. SDAC is completely free, open source software that can be used for commercial purposes under the MIT license. Licenses of the included products such as Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft .NET Framework are not included in the software license. Most SDAC components use the same API and data access classes as those in Devart ODBC Drivers and Tools such as dbsetup, dbvisualizer, dbquery and dbutil64 for ODBC databases, SQL Server Native Client 10.0, and so on. SDAC allows developers to easily create applications using its tools for: SDAC 8.2.8 has been released on April 17, 2016 and is currently available for download on GitHub.
